14:00 Sun 20 May Shackleford Lost by 51 runs 102 153
Morrison 4-2, J McGahan 2-17, le Clercq 1-6
Dean 45, le Clercq 21, Harman 13
Good fielding effort by Phené with catches on the whole being held. Batting second against the softer ball and in very poor light meant that Phené with all the time in the world still could not survive. Dean's excellent 45 was not supported by the middle order, though Matt Morrison was unlucky to be lbw to the left-arm seamer Wells, who took 4 for 23 and bowled Harman with a real Jaffa.
11:30 Sun 27 May * Chelsea Arts Club Won by 5 wickets 130 for 5 129 for 7
P McGahan 4-20, Dean 1-11, Elcock 1-20
Bachelor 63*, Dean 11, le Clercq 10
A frenetic 63 not out by Stuart batting at No. 3 ensured Phené were able to romp home after their sterling bowling and fielding had cramped the Arts Club performance. It is hard to recall when a drinks break was last called for with the score at just 17 runs after 10 overs. All the Phené bowlers did well, though Jeremy McGahan's 11 overs unchanged for 20 runs meant the Arts Club hitters had to go after the other end where they found Pat McGahan taking 4 for 20. Simon captained cannily and the field changes yielded catches and run containment in equal measure. Jeremy's superb catch on the boundary of a steepling ball coming out of the sun certainly saved some punishment as Julian Whiting was already on 12 off 8 balls and going after the bowling with intent.

M McGahan's 105 was the fiftieth Phené century.
This was the third time the Phené scored two partnerships of 100 or more in the same innings:
107 for the third wicket by M McGahan & Khanbhai and 102 for the fourth wicket by M McGahan & Snee.
The previous occasions were v Salix in 2000 and v Ebernoe in 2005 (Snee featured in that one too).
14:00 Sun 29 July Peper Harow Abandoned (rain) 33 for 1
Peper Harow was seriously damp. Dan Harman opened with Matt Morrison and it began to drizzle after 2 overs, getting steadily worse until Dan pulled to midwicket and was caught. He stumped back muttering about the umpires mistaking him for Rebecca Adlington and made such a fuss that the scorer asked him if he had, perhaps, got the name of the catcher? It seemed to grab the moment as everyone except Dan dissolved in uncontrollable silent giggles. We laughed 'til we cried, as it were.
